Hello All,
Despite the cool temperatures this mid-January, Sue from Brickel Creek Organic Farms in Jamestown is still making home grown deliveries to the RUE. She has built a movable, double lined, high tunnel green house complete with a retractable dome and solar vents. It is designed to capture water from rainfall and/or melting snow to make for convenient watering. This past week she delivered pea shoots, flat leaf parsley, beautiful spinach, Swiss chard and eggs. Yes, we are truly blessed by her efforts. Keep up the great job.
Last night Tom, Evan and I hosted a Bordeaux wine dinner at Rue Dumaine. Evan has been collecting vintage Bordeaux’s for the past 6 months and he showcased his collection to 40 satisfied guests. I put together a menu to complement the wines of the Bordeaux region complete with Sue’s spinach, parsley, eggs, and pea shoots. I was thrilled to see the effort Evan put into making this special evening come to life. We are only as strong as the great people we surround ourselves with.
Every Thursday evening year around Rue Dumaine offers a 3-course Prix Fixe menu for $30 or less. A new menu is created every week showcasing seasonal & local ingredients. Check out the website weekly to see what we have to offer. If you are interested and would like us to hold a meal for you and yours, our pleasure.
Rue Dumaine will not be participating in Miami Valley Restaurant Week January 27th-Febuary 3rd.
Thanks for reading my story this week,
Anne
